If you’re traveling and need a safe, comfortable place for your pet to stay, Murray Animal Hospital offers veterinary-supervised pet boarding. Our experienced team provides compassionate care, ensuring your pet gets plenty of exercise, playtime, and attention while you’re away.

We proudly serve pets in Murray, KY and surrounding areas with high-quality boarding services. Each pet is provided access to an indoor run (for medium to large sized dogs) or a smaller area (for small dogs and cats). Our walking area is completely fenced for the safety of your pets. All pets are boarded and walked separately.

All boarding areas are climate controlled and cared for by our trained staff. During your pet’s stay, they will receive three individual walks per day and rotated to a new clean kennel. To ensure they are comfortable during their stay. If your pet requires medications, our team will administer them according to their prescribed treatment plan.

Vaccine Requirements

Vaccines need to be current 2 weeks prior to boarding to ensure your pet and all other boarders are kept healthy during their stay. Any pets showing signs of intestinal parasites will be tested and treated during their stay. This will be charged out with boarding charges during pick up.

All canine boarders are required to be current on their vaccines, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella Intranasal.

All feline boarders are required to be current on their vaccines, Rabies and FVRCP.

Boarding FAQ

Do we need to bring our own food?

We do ask that you bring your pet’s food from home with instructions on how you are currently feeding them. Keeping all boarders on their regular diet helps insure a happy and healthy stay. We provide all bowls needed for feed and water during their stay.

Do I need to bring my pet’s medications?

Medications can be dropped off with your pet and we will give them as directed. All medications must be labeled and in the original containers. Under federal and state laws, we are not allowed to administer any controlled substances that have not been prescribed by our doctor. Any controlled substance medications that have been prescribed by our doctor will be given out of our pharmacy with a daily charge. Under the law, we cannot have any prescription bottles dropped off with the pet while boarding.

Should we bring a bed?

No need! We provide plenty of comfortable bedding, blankets, and quilts to keep your pet cozy.

Are aggressive pets allowed to board with you?

Any aggressive dogs will not be allowed to board with us due to the risk to our staff. Complimentary baths or paid nail trims will not be allowed if the dog is aggressive.
